The Story of Her Jimny

The Story of Her Jimny

Where do I even begin…

Growing up, the outdoors was my playground. My family’s old Pajero carried us on adventures to Double Island and countless campsites that gave me that feeling of freedom I still chase today. Our annual Easter camping trips with family friends were a tradition that shaped me and they still continue now.

But like so many of us, life shifted. Somewhere along the way, those adventures paused. It wasn’t until the start of 2021, when I was “re-introduced” to 4WDing and camping, that the spark lit up again. I was asked on a trip to Moreton Island with someone I had just started seeing a leap so far outside my comfort zone. I remember telling myself: “Just do it. You’ll have fun. What’s the worst that could happen?”

That spontaneous trip changed everything. The feeling of being in a 4WD on the sand, the salt air, the freedom of having no worries it was like a part of me I had forgotten came rushing back. I realised how much I missed it, how much I needed it.

Not long after, I knew I wanted my own adventure vehicle. In July 2022, I upgraded from my little Suzuki Swift to my dream car a Jimny. That was the start of something much bigger than I could have imagined.

I remember being inspired by all the Jimny pages on Instagram, and I just knew I wanted to create my own space. When I thought of the name Her Jimny, it felt so right.

There’s one moment I’ll never forget end of 2022, taking my Jimny over to Moreton Island for my very first off-road trip in my own 4WD. Driving onto that beach, tyres dropping onto the sand, ocean right beside me… I can’t even explain the rush. For the first time, it wasn’t me in the passenger seat it was me behind the wheel, fully in control. That feeling of freedom and empowerment hit me hard, and in that moment I knew this is where I belong.

At first, I was just sharing cute beach photos of my Jimny. But by the end of 2023, I decided to step out of my comfort zone again. I started talking on camera, and then I began solo camping. That’s when everything shifted. Solo camping gave me a sense of empowerment I had never felt before. It taught me resilience, independence, and courage.

That’s also when the seed of Her Trax was planted. I thought what about the women who don’t have access to resources or a community to learn from? Where would they go if they wanted to get started in 4WDing, camping, or solo travel? I wanted to create that safe space, that guiding light.

In early 2024, a breakup pushed me deeper into solo adventures, and with it, my community began to grow rapidly. I shared my journeys the highs, the lessons, the raw moments and women resonated with it. They saw themselves in my story.

Since then, I’ve hosted Girls Adventure Days, connected with incredible women, and watched as so many have taken their first steps into solo camping and off-road adventures. And in 2025, I decided to go all in. To back myself fully. To pour my heart and soul into Her Trax.

Because for me, this is about more than driving a Jimny or setting up camp. It’s about empowerment. It’s about carving new tracks, paving the way, and proving that women belong here out on the sand, under the stars, and behind the wheel.

This is where Her Jimny began.
And this is where Her Trax continues.
